A Charming, Tightly Knit Town
Rooted in the Railroad
Haskell was incorporated in 1905 as a town along the Midland Valley Railroad, which connected Fort Smith, AR to Wichita, KS and passed through Muskogee and Tulsa. Much of Haskell's early growth can be attributed to the railroad, and even the town's name has its roots in the railroad — Charles N. Haskell was a railroad developer and resident of the area.
